Aberdeen Day At The Legislature

The Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce Hosts Aberdeen Day at the Legislature each February. Hope you can join us on February 22, 2024!

We are excited to be hosting Aberdeen Day at the Legislature on Thursday, February 22, 2024 and hope that you will join us! Back once again is the All-City Elementary Chorus, who will perform on the capitol steps. If you want to participate, contact Gail at gail@aberdeen-chamber.com or (605) 225-2860. Thursday, February 22, 2024 – Aberdeen Day at the Legislature & SD Chamber’s Business Day

6:45 AM Leadership Aberdeen class departs Aberdeen
8:00 AM Confirmed businesses/organizations can begin setting up displays/booths in Rotunda.
9:30 AM Leadership Aberdeen class arrives at Capitol.
10:00 AM Coffee and cookies from the Market on the Plaza and Aberdeen Booths open to the public.
10:00 AM Leadership class and public can attend committee meetings on the 4th floor.
11:00 AM Meeting with Lt. Governor Larry Rhoden in the conference room off the Rotunda (tentative)
12:00 PM Aberdeen Public Schools Elementary Chorus Performance on Capitol Steps
12:30 PM Aberdeen Day Lunch at the Capitol Lake Visitor’s Center
2:00 PM Legislative Session Starts – Aberdeen attendees will be recognized
4:00 PM Rotunda Events Conclude and class heads to Ramkota Hotel

8:45 AM Breakfast at the Visitor Center. $20 with RSVP by clicking HERE
9:00 AM Presentation by SD State Treasurer, Josh Haeder
9:30 AM Presentation by SD Retailer’s Association Executive Director, Nathan Sanderson
10:00 AM Load bus for Law Enforcement Training Academy
10:30 AM Tour of academy and presentation by Attorney General
12:00 PM Depart academy with lunch on the road.
3:00 PM Arrive back in Aberdeen.
