Back to NewsThe 2024 Leadership Aberdeen class has chosen improvements at the Baird Park & Sledding Hill as their class project. The goal is to purchase a snow-making machine and associated equipment to ensure enough snow on the sledding hill throughout the winter season for children and families to enjoy. The class is working with the City of Aberdeen Parks, Recreation & Forestry department and the planned implementation is the winter of 2025-2026.
Part of the awareness campaign and fundraising efforts includes the Beers for Baird Park Pub Crawl on Saturday, April 27th from 1pm to 8pm. It will be a day of fun, drink specials and door prizes! The theme is “Eras”, so dress in your favorite decade and make the rounds to all the participating businesses, which include:
- Barbeque Twist
- Circus Sports Bar & Grill
- City Lights Bar & Event Center
- Lagers Inn
- Mazatlan
- R & A Bar
- The Market on the Plaza
- The Zoo Bar
Check-in and cup pickup will be at City Lights, 316 South 2nd Street, any time after 1pm and you can proceed to the rest of the businesses from there. Tickets are just $10 each in advance, or $15 the day of the event, and all proceeds from the pub crawl will go toward the project. Advanced tickets can be purchased online at cutt.ly/BeersForBaird.
