About the Committee

The mission of the Agribusiness Committee is to promote agriculture as a major segment of the local economy, to address and educate the membership on issues important to agriculture, to
unite and network groups through ag-related programs and events, and to recognize outstanding achievements in agriculture. committee meets the second Friday of the month at noon at the SDSU Regional Extension Office.  The 2017 committee chair is Kristin Sigaty of Concord Grains and the Chamber staff liaison to the committee is Lisa Anderson. The committee facilitates the following annual events:

  • Ag Appreciation Banquet - This banquet is held each November and allows local businesses to show appreciation to area farmers and ranchers
  • Ag Fair - Each Spring, 4th graders from the surrounding area attend the Ag Fair at Prairie Hill Farms. It is designed to educate students on crops, livestock, farm safety, and more.
  • Consumer Breakfast - The breakfast is held during the Brown County Fair to show appreciation to fair-goers.
  • Northern Plains Livestock Day - This June event features several different activities and livestock events for young showmen and women.
