Abby Award Nominations Now Open

Nominations are being sought for the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce’s 28^th annual ABBY Awards. The awards banquet will be held on Thursday, September 15 at the Dakota Event Center.

Anyone may nominate a business or organization in the following categories by calling the Chamber at 605-225-2860 or emailing info@aberdeen-chamber.com:

• The Agribusiness Award is presented to a business that has demonstrated exceptional performance in the development and advancement of the agriculture industry in South Dakota through farming, ranching, services, resources and related programs.
• The Bridge Builder Award is presented to a business or organization that has demonstrated exceptional performance in collaborating with community educational institutions and agencies to expand their workforce to include under-served segments such as students, individuals with special needs, veterans and minority groups.
• The Community Involvement – Business Award is presented to a business that has demonstrated exceptional performance in its support of the community through its involvement and support of programs, events or voluntary groups that serve to enhance the community.
• The Community Involvement – Non Profit Award is presented to a non-profit organization that has demonstrated exceptional performance in its mission to serve the community through programs and resources such as arts & culture, sports, education, volunteerism, financial assistance, etc.
• The Customer Service – Retail Award is presented to a business that has demonstrated exceptional performance and service in the retail sector.
• The Customer Service – Service Award is presented to a business that has demonstrated exceptional performance and service in the service sector.
• The Health & Wellness Award is presented to a business or organization that has demonstrated exceptional performance in providing and promoting health and wellness and related programs and services within their company and/or community.
• The Manufacturing Award is presented to a business who has demonstrated exceptional performance and innovation producing and distributing manufactured goods.
• The Professional Services Award is presented to a business or organization that has demonstrated exceptional performance providing support services to businesses in our community.

Once a nomination is made, the Chamber will contact the nominee and ask them to complete an official award application by August 18, 2022. All ABBY award winners are selected by a panel of judges from throughout the United States, with the exception of the People’s Choice, which is voted on locally from nominees in all nine categories.
